MISSION MINISTRIES
Department Head: Minister Jacqueline Howard
This
department is made up of those ministries which are an
extension of the Pastor and executes the vision of the Pastor
and operates with the Spirit of Excellence.
The
Missions Ministries assist needy persons in the congregation
and the community with food, clothing, shelter and other
necessities. They assist seniors with their needs; care for
the sick and shut-in, and minister to the homeless and the
incarcerated. The Missions Ministries consist of the
following:
Golden
Circle Seniors Ministry: Minister Jacqueline Howard
The
purpose of the Golden Circle is to serve the needs of the sick
and of the church Senior Citizens.
They respond to needs on a continuous basis. During
Thanksgiving and Christmas, they prepare and deliver food
baskets. Also provided are in-home visits to the elderly and
sick and they host an Annual Seniors Recognition program or
service project.. To
assist them in understanding their Biblical role in their
senior years and how their daily lives. To build self
esteem and confidence in them by showing them how God can
still use them; to pray and intercede together, to encourage
and serve others within the community.
Home
Mission: Mother Rosa Smith
The
mission of the Home Mission is to seek out and serve various
needs of the community. They help those who are in need of
food, clothing and shelter. They reach out to various
organizations, families and individuals by providing clothing,
food, spiritual nourishment, toys and a helping hand to loved
ones in and out of the community.
Prison
Ministry (Division I): Minister Cora Frink
The
Prison ministry takes the Gospel to the men, women and
teenagers who are confined in the prisons, correctional
institutions, metal institutions and halfway houses. Twelve
outreaches are being served Bible study, conferences, worship
services, witnessing sessions and/or written correspondence.
Prison
Ministry (Division II): Minister Renita Butts
The
Prison ministry takes the Gospel to the men, women and
teenagers who are confined in the prisons, correctional
institutions, metal institutions and halfway houses. Twelve
outreaches are being served Bible study, conferences, worship
services, witnessing sessions and/or written correspondence.
Hospital
Ministry: Minister Helen Parker
Hospitalization
can be a lonely or difficult experience for people and we
extend our caring ministry to members there. Upon
notification that a member is hospitalized, a Mt. Pleasant
Minister will visit and provide spiritual and emotional
support.
Nursing Home
Ministry: Minister Essie Robertson / Minister Renee’
Goodman
The
mission of this ministry is to go outside the church and visit
those members in the Rest/Nursing Home. This
ministry helps to build better bridges between the people
confined to their homes, or nursing homes, and the church. A
regular schedule of visitation, cards, flowers, sermons from
Bishop Fullwood and phone calls help to meet the needs of the
confined membership, keeping them linked to Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church Ministries.
Intercessory
Prayer Ministry: Pastor Judy Oates / Minister Raymond Oates
The
Intercessory Prayer Ministry is dedicated to challenging
believers to a deeper prayer life. This ministry is committed
to leading believers into a biblical understanding of prayer
and providing the information and motivation to put this
biblical teaching about prayer into practice. This ministry is
committed to equipping believers in the areas of intercession,
spiritual warfare, fasting, and healing. These areas are
crucial in developing and maintaining a powerful and effective
prayer life. They are also integral to the understanding and
practice of prayer. |
