Youth and Young Adult Ministries

Youth Ministry:

The goal of this ministry is to offer the youth of Mt. Pleasant an alternative in activities/entertainment to what the world offers. They strive to incorporate Christian values in those activities and promote Christian education. Their outreach ministry is to fellowship with other young Christians outside of Mt. Pleasant and to focus on the needs of the elderly within the church and the community.  

Young Gents: Bro. Derrick Fullwood

A dynamic young male ministry geared towards meeting the mentoring needs of tomorrow’s man. The purpose is to guide young men into spiritual maturity for the purpose of growing the Kingdom of God, self, family, and friends; and allow the Spirit and the Word of God to be sole source of direction for their lives.

Girls to Women: Mrs. Nessie Newkirk

The Girls to Women ministry was established to minister to the young ladies in the church. The ministry’s purpose is to provide Christian nurturing, instruction and training through a series of workshops, seminars, and field trips, covering such areas as: peer pressure, communication, finances/budgeting, etiquette, rats, fashion & style, etc.  

Young Adult Ministry: Minister Demetrius Joyner

The goal of this ministry is to offer young adults of Mt. Pleasant an alternative in activities/entertainment to what the world offers. They strive to incorporate Christian values in those activities and promote Christian education. Their outreach ministry is to fellowship with other young Christians outside of Mt. Pleasant and to focus on the needs.

Nursery Ministry: (Ages 0-5) Mrs. Cindy Jones / Mrs. Cathy Baldwin

The Nursery Ministry strives to provide this atmosphere. In addition, basic concepts such as sharing, caring, and honesty are taught at a very basic level through stories and activities. The nursery ministry provides a safe, enjoyable and educational environment for the children left in our care allowing parents to feel comfortable attending worship service.

Joy Night Ministry: Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Farrior

Joy Night Service was designed with the youth in mind. It is a worship service set apart for a time of celebration, fellowship, and worship for the youth and anyone who enjoys being in the presence of the Lord. This takes place every Saturday before the 4^th Sunday.  Joy Night brings new and innovative ways to bring glory to the Lord by means of praise dance, mime, praise & worship, drama ministry, spoken word, words of inspiration, poetry, and the preached Word.
